Try Out These Fun Disney PhotoPass Poses!
Ready to sprinkle a little extra magic into your Walt Disney World pictures? Whether you are in front of Cinderella Castle or posing in Galaxy’s Edge, these creative Disney PhotoPass Magic Shot ideas will help you capture something special.
Here are a few of my favorite PhotoPass poses that are fun, creative, and guaranteed to bring a little extra Disney magic to your photos.
Don’t Fly Away (Balloon Magic Shot)
This classic Magic Shot makes it look like you’re holding a bunch of Mickey balloons — and maybe even floating away!
Pretend the balloons are lifting you right off the ground, and bring one arm back like a friend or family member is trying to hold you down. The person holding the balloons can really sell it by lifting one foot off the ground and going up on their tiptoe with the other, like they are just about to float away. It’s especially cute when everyone joins in, sitting on the ground to keep you down or holding onto each other in a chain, all trying not to let you drift off. Just maybe pick someone other than your embarrassed teenager to help with this one.
📍 Best spot: In front of Cinderella Castle for that picture-perfect backdrop, though you can find balloon Magic Shots in several parks (and they often change for holidays, seasons and special events!).
The Atlas Pose (Holding Up Spaceship Earth)
This one is fun and creative shot to try at EPCOT! Stand at the perfect angle to make it look like you’re carrying the weight of Spaceship Earth on your shoulders.
Channel your inner Greek god. Stand in a strong squat position, legs apart, arms out and back like you’re straining under the weight of the giant sphere. Bonus points for a heroic grin or dramatic grimace.
📍 Best spot: Right at the main entrance of EPCOT, near the front gates. Most PhotoPass Cast Members will know how to line this one up perfectly!
Using the Force Like a Sith
Are you a Jedi or a Sith today? Either way, this shot is epic when you get the timing right.
It takes a little teamwork, but that is part of the fun. One person stands tall with their arm extended like they are using the Force, and the other pretends to be lifted into the air. The key is lining up the arm angle and the floating person’s position. It helps if your PhotoPass Cast Member is willing to get a little creative with you. We tried it two ways, once with the person being lifted jumping into the air and once with them just rising onto their toes, and both turned out great.
📍 Best spot: Galaxy’s Edge, of course! Try in front of the Millennium Falcon or the TIE Echelon Shuttle for an authentic Star Wars vibe.
The Circle of Life
This one’s for Animal Kingdom fans! Recreate that Lion King moment by holding your little one (or a plush!) high above your head.
Stand tall, arms extended up just like Rafiki with baby Simba. The more serious your face, the funnier the photo.
📍 Best spot: In front of the Tree of Life at the Animal Kingdom Park Entrance or at the Tree of Life Overlook near Feathered Friends in Flight!
Sprinkle in Some Pixie Dust
You can never go wrong with a Tinker Bell Magic Shot!
The PhotoPass Cast Member will help you out with this one. Just hold your hand out like Tink just landed, or look down at your palm with an expression of wonder. Kids especially love this shot. It’s pure magic when they see her appear in the photo later!
📍 Best spot: Anywhere near Cinderella Castle down main street in Magic Kingdom but she can be found at various locations throughout the parks. (Her costume will often change in the fall and winter!)
Tips for the Best Disney PhotoPass Poses
- Have fun with it. The best pictures come when everyone is relaxed and laughing.
- Ask your PhotoPass photographer about Magic Shots. They often have creative ideas you would not expect.
- Try different times of day. Morning light or evening glow adds something extra to every photo.
- Don’t be afraid to make it your own. The more personal, the better.
